Egypt Government Graph

MEFMEF/Government Graph/Egypt

Method and Status Definitions

Structure from the Constitution of the Arab Republic of Egypt (2014, as amended in 2019; English text at constituteproject.org), cited by article on each node. Officeholders checked on October 6, 2026, each with sources.

This graph models the Egyptian state as institutions, positions and typed relationships (appoints, confirms, elects, commands, chairs, supervises, supplies, parallel to). The President sits at the centre. Article 4 vests sovereignty in the people, but the 2019 amendments give the President the choice of the heads of the judicial bodies, the Supreme Constitutional Court and the Public Prosecution, and make permanent the rule that the Minister of Defense is appointed only with the approval of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.

Every officeholder shown is sourced to an official Egyptian state page (the Presidency, ministries, governorates, authorities), to state-owned media labeled as such, or to a named outlet of record. Each quoted sentence naming the person was checked on the live page. Verified means two independent publishers agree. Single source means one. Acting marks officials serving on renewable acting assignments, such as the Central Bank governor. Unconfirmed entries are not shown rather than filled with a guess.

Recent turnover: a cabinet reshuffle on 10 and February 11, 2026 brought a new Minister of Defense and a Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; new governors were sworn in on February 16, 2026; new heads of the Court of Cassation and the State Council took office on July 1, 2026; the Future of Egypt Authority moved from the Ministry of Defense to the Presidency in July 2026; House committee officers were re-elected on October 4, 2026.

The military economy and parallel structures sector covers armed forces economic bodies, the Future of Egypt Authority, the Arab Tribes Union in Sinai and the banned Muslim Brotherhood. They are modelled because they hold land, contracts, arms or mass followings outside the civilian ministries.

Not yet covered: the full list of 27 governors, the House committees beyond the three shown, field army and military region commanders, the heads of the Republican Guard and Military Intelligence, and historical holders.
